The Importance

The audition draft of the script is now available HERE.  You may also check with Mr. Forsythe for a hard copy to read while on campus.

The audition packet - which must be read thoroughly and filled out completely by auditions - is available HERE.  You may also request a copy from Mr. Forsythe.

Please sign up for auditions on the call board.

INCLUSION
Everyone is encouraged to come out and audition regardless of grade, age, cultural background, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, ability, or body type.  We embrace the spirit of diversity and welcome everyone to the process.

THE AUDITION PROCESS
There is no “general” and then “callbacks” for this show.  There are three days of auditions for everyone.  All who wish to audition will sign up to participate.

M 3/9
3:30p – 6:00p
Movement / Devising / Voice Work

T 3/10 & W 3/11
3:30p – 6:00p
Script Readings

There is no need to prepare anything specific except for having read the play.  The audition will consist of movement, spoken voice work, devising, and readings from the script.  Actors might be released throughout the days, but all should be prepared to stay all hours on all days.  On day one, please come in comfortable/dance/workout clothing and be prepared to work barefoot.  Please do not worry if you do not have dance / movement experience.  The movement audition is not applicable to the needs of the script itself; it’s an exercise in ensemble building and used to assess willingness to take risks and embrace non-traditional forms of storytelling.  Come to experience the audition process with a sense of joy, experimentation, risk taking, and abandon.

AUDITION CONFLICTS
It may seriously affect casting potential if you have to miss any of the audition process.  That said, we also wish to be as inclusive as possible during these three days.  If you absolutely cannot clear your schedule for the full time (and no – a piano lesson is not a good excuse J) – email Matt Zrebski (matthew.b.zrebski@gmail.com) and request an exception.

CASTING ANNOUNCMENT
The cast will be announced via the blog by 10:00p on TH 3/12.  A physical posting will also go up by 9:00a on F 3/13.  Please note that first rehearsal (mandatory) is on M 3/16.

ROLE ACCEPTANCE
By simply showing up, any actor auditioning for the show is saying, “I am excited to accept any role offered.”  No requests will be entertained regarding your role preference.   If you get cast and then refuse a role, it may greatly affect future casting at Franklin High School Theater and future Teen West Collaborations, so make your decision to audition wisely.
